Venetian Glass Spiral BraceletSC-20-BR-07
This colorful bracelet is made of old Venetian White Heart beads and a spiral Boule bead from West Africa. An old Meditarranean coral and a turquoise blue Faence bead are worked in asymmetrically as accent beads.
The cherry red glass beads have a matte patina, and a layer of white glass on the inside, hence their name. The legendary Venetian White Heart beads were made in Italy from the late 1600s and traded mostly to Africa and North America by the Hudson Bay Company. They were collected by countless tribal people.
Boule brass beads were originally found in West African countries such as the Ivory Coast and were part of a family tradition of bead making, with tools and techniques being passed on from generation to generation.
