This one of a kind necklace is made of multi-colored blue green Peruvian opals and is worked with old silver and gold-plated accent beads.

The unique Beduin silver hand of Fatima from Oman is gold-plated and handhammered in the typical Beduin style of Northern Oman. This hand was initially part of a forehead ornament worn with traditional garb. The motiv of the hand of Fatima is common in the Muslim world and often used in jewelry and other arts and crafts, refering not only to Fatima, the daughter of the prophet Muhammad, but also to the five pillars of Islam. Symbolizing good luck and more importantly protection against the evil eye, hands of Fatima are generally worn by women.

Peruvian opals are rare gemstones found mostly in the Andes Mountains near San Patricio, Peru. Considered Peru’s national stone, these opals are unique because of their milky, semi-translucency and their vitreous, pearly surface. Colors range from light to medium aqua/turquoise shades. Peruvian legends praise their relaxing energy and tranquil healing powers.
