A new take on the traditional prayer necklace, this long piece combines a Thai Hindu amulet framed in brass, featuring a standing Buddha figure, with old White Heart glass beads, originally from Venice, Italy.

The cherry red glass beads have a matte patina, and a layer of white glass on the inside, hence their name. The legendary Venetian White Heart beads were made in Italy from the late 1600s and traded mostly to Africa and North America by the Hudson Bay Company. They were collected by countless tribal people.

Hindu Buddha amulets are commonly worn as protective talisman. Also worked into this necklace are Meditarreanean coral, a turquoise Faence and an old Fulani brass rod bead from West Africa.
